About New York City Hiking Tours
My hiking and New York City walking tours are a great way to see New York City. These
NYC walking tours and NYC hiking tours are only given privately and are available on request to individuals
or groups. I can also accommodate school groups and summer camps. New York City walking tours are available in any season
on weekdays and some weekends as well as evening hours. My New York City walking tours are “more walk and less talk”
and are designed primarily for those who are in reasonably good shape. We cover a lot of ground at a reasonably steady pace
and the goal is to see as much of a specific area in New York City as possible. A NYC walking tour or hike usually covers 2-3
miles but can be increased to 7 miles for those who are more ambitious. The shorter tours last almost
2 1/2 hours and the longer tours last about 4 hours but there will also be ample time to “smell the roses”.
(I’m also good at finding restrooms along the way!) Of course, any walking tour and hike that is given can be modified
to fit the needs and schedule of the participants. Most importantly, my NYC walking tours and hikes are designed to be
fun.
About Me
Any New York City walking tour or hike is given personally by me. I am a native New Yorker who has lived most of my life
in New York City.
I am a licensed New York City sightseeing guide who is an active hiker. I have about 10
years experience as a hike leader for one of the major hiking clubs in the Northeast. I have led hikes in the woods of upstate
New York as well as walking tours of New York City where we have visited Central Park, the Lower Manhattan Waterfront including Battery Park City, the West Village and the High Line, Riverside Park, Governors Island and the East Village. In 2010 and 2011, I led a tour for Open House New York, www.ohny.org, which is a citywide event that celebrates architecture and design. The New York City walking tours and hikes that I
provide are carefully designed so that the participant can see as much of an area as possible yet still get some exercise.
It is my hope that on each and every NYC walking tour you will experience something that will give you a sense of wonder
and excitement -and you'll have fun.
